The Horde cries “nay” to proposed AFK solutions by Blizzard

Two rival factions stand face-to-face on the steppes of Alterac Valley, the growing enmity between the two threatening to snap at any moment. Suddenly, the warhorns blow and the Alliance’s front liners charge into the mass of senseless and AFK-ed Horde party.

Doesn’t make much sense, does it? Well, that’s how it usually goes during BG weekend events. But now with word of Blizzard thinking of taking out the AFK function inside the battlegrounds, some Horde players are clamoring for Blizzard to keep their only supposed means of gaining easy Honor inside a BG.

Many players from the World of Warcraft forums are complaining about the long-time instability of the map against the Horde’s favor. And for various reasons, the Alliance seem to usually take home the flag during these events. Blizzard, however, insists on remedying the situation through many proposed changes.

Many forum posters openly admitted that despite the imbalance to one side or the other, AV weekends are still the best place to gain the Honor their characters need, whether AFK’d or not. Still, it’s not as fun seeing a bunch of players standing around doing nothing in what’s supposed to be a heated battle. Hopefully, Blizzard will finalize the balances to make sure the game opens itself up for both sides in a fair fight, and, more importantly, make the game enjoyable by all.
