The King of Fighters…errr.. shmups, SkyStage coming to XBLA

SNK Playmore brings us yet another King of Fighters title, and this isn’t the King of Fighters XII that we’ve been keeping tabs on. I had to take a closer look at the screenshots to believe it – it’s a shmup!
That’s right. The Bogards are gonna take to the skies, dodge a gazillion beams and cannons, and shoot the crap out of anything that fires back. SNK Playmore plans to release this shoot ’em up, currently called The King of Fighters SkyStage, for Xbox Live Arcade, which really seems to be hoarding titles right now.
It’s not something we see every day, but it could be fun. King of Fighters = fun. Shmups = fun. King of Fighters shmup = who knows?
