The Lord of the Rings Online: looking at the Hillmen
Codemasters and Turbine have tried to add as many factions and creatures represented in The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar. Among them are the Hillmen, a misunderstood and often misrepresented group in Middle Earth.
Historically speaking, they haven’t exactly been one of the most noble groups of people. The Hillmen have been documented as the group which seized power in Rhudaur while forging an alliance with Angmar. They invaded Arnor twice, fully razing the North Kingdom during the second war.
However, Earnur, Prince of Gondor, along with the Elves of Rivendell and Linden, pushed back both the Witch-king of Angmar and his armies from the North. All who stood against them were promptly dispatched.
The Hillmen who survived regrouped in the southwest barrens of Angmar. Many gave up their allegiance to the kingdom of Angmar, pursuing a peaceful nomadic existence. When the Ring was discovered and Sauron returned, many of the clans rekindled their ties with Angmar and its current master, Miaran.
Not all have fallen under the corruption of Sauron though. Some Hillmen together with a Ranger of the North are still fighting for their freedom. The guerrilla team is currently waiting for an opportunity to strike.
