The Mummy franchise, made popular by Brendan Fraser, has been picked up by Bigpoint, in partnership with Universal Studios, to be made into a browser-based MMO game.

The Mummy franchise, made popular by Brendan Fraser, has been picked up by Bigpoint, in partnership with Universal Studios, to be made into a browser-based MMO game.

According to the press release, The Mummy Online will be a “free-to-play Action-RPG MMO game” where you can “take on heroic roles as adventure seekers.” The place of adventure, of course, is none other than the deep, dark tombs and crypts of early 20th century Egypt.

No release date was provided, but we hear it’s gonna be soon, within this decade.
