The Nintendo Weekend Warrior: On a Keyblade wielder and his Nobody, a Boy and His Blob, and a Wii and its cool homebrew

As far as this week goes, the Nintendo DS news has definitely slowed down to almost a halt, with the exception of Kingdom Hearts. As for the Wii, a lot of developers have released updates for their great apps, and we’ll cover it all right here, just for you.

Time for a quick end-of-the week recap of the biggest news from the Nintendo side of the fence. As far as this week goes, the Nintendo DS news has definitely slowed down to almost a halt, with the exception of Kingdom Hearts. As for the Wii, it’s not much better, but at least two good homebrews got big updates, and that’s always a good thing.


Game News

  • Sora and Roxas are making their appearance in the Nintendo DS as Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days gets dated, along with a DSi bundle and a few more screens. Link
  • In celebration of this 1989 classic’s 20th anniversary, A Boy and His Blob is gonna get a remake and it’s heading straight for the Wii. Link

Nintendo News

  • The Wii’s System Menu gets updated to 3.5 in Korea, and thereby affecting the PatchMii and the Twilight Hack. But it’s only limited to Korea for now. No word yet if other territories will be getting the same update.  Link

Homebrew News

  • Wii Homebrew Launcher got an update and it now runs GameCube homebrew. Link
  • MPlayer also got an update, now supporting more formats plus a widescreen version. Link
