For starters, Square Enix revealed more info for their much-awaited games, plus the Wii homebrew devs seemed to have really hit their stride, releasing their heavy artillery for the scene. Game News

  • Rumors were true after all – Final Fantasy IV: The After Years is gonna be a WiiWare exclusive, along with other Square Enix titles. Link
  • Let’s not forget about Square’s younger star, Sora. Tetsuya Nomura reveals through Famitsu that there’s gonna be a big announcement, and it might concern KH. Link
  • Another big name made his presence felt at the GDC, and it looks like Link will be enjoying another Zelda game. Link
  • Woody and Buzz are back, and they’re gonna be in their very own shooting game, Toy Story Mania!, complete with 3D glasses in the package. Link

  • Nintendo is scheduled to join console giants Sony and Microsoft in the E3 2009 press conference. Link
  • Netflix has been with Xbox 360 for some time now, and it seems like the Wii is gonna join in on the streaming action. Link
  • Neil Young triggers another flame-filled debate by commenting that the iPhone is better than the scene’s two darling handhelds – the PSP and DS. Link

  • Wii homebrew developer waninkoko updated his Wii Firmware Updater earlier this week. He didn’t leave a changelog but you can always try it out for yourself. Link
  • Team Twiizers looked at the new System Menu v4.0 last Wednesday – Good News: Homebrew Channel and DVDX still work; Bad News: Twilight Hack is now blocked. Link
  • Latest Wii Batch IOS upgrade contains changes to various IOS versions so don’t update yet unless you know exactly what you’re doing.Link
  • Tatsunoko vs. Capcom and Super Smash Brothers Brawl both now run in Dolphin Rev2746. Link
  • Gamecube Backup Launcher v0.2 now supports Freeloader and Action Replay, as well as speed and performance improvements. Link
  • Making it to this week’s recap is Tantric’s hot new update for his Snex9xGX, which comes with an entirely new design and interactive GUI. Link
