According to a report that seems to confirm more orders, the Tetraprism lens from the iPhone 15 Pro Max is going to be used in other models for the iPhone 16 Generation. The iPhone 15 Pro Max has the only Tetraprism lens in this generation. The periscope system gives it a 5x optical Zoom, compared to 3x on the iPhone 15 Pro. Apple is rumored to be bringing its lens system to other iPhone 16 models. It now seems that it is happening. DigiTimes Asia reports that Apple is planning to expand its use of periscope lens. Apple is expected to expand the range of suppliers for its iPhone 16 by adding Genius Electronic Optical along with existing supplier Largan Precision. According to current rumors, the iPhone 16 Pro will get the lens while the Pro Max will continue to use it. The extra zoom would theoretically be available only on the Pro models, and not the standard editions. According to other rumors, the Pro models would also receive an additional 48-megapixel camera on the back, replacing the 12-megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor. New coatings could also reduce lens flare. Thinner lenses may help reduce weight, and reduce the bump.
