The unPUGgable Hellfire Ramparts

Vazruden and Nazan - Image 1It seems that the chest drop for Vazruden is still a concern for some players. Loot ninjas are not very morally centered critters so Vazruden’s chest drop is basically at risk. Pickup Groups (better known as PUGs) are not advisable since they are mostly the breeding ground for ninjas.

Blizzard guy Tseric gives an answer to the constant question: why not just ordinary loot? Well, the boss encounter is basically a two fold with Vazruden and his mount Nazan. The devs were concerned about two things, “the nature of the encounter and the technology involved.” There are problems that arose like bugs and inconsistencies “when loot was assigned in a more standard fashion.” So instead of having “coding conflict” and groups getting no loot because of the bugs, the devs opted to rely on the chest drop to make the instance work smoothly.

Tseric indicated that the devs are planning to develop a solution in terms of changes in coding to address this problem. For the meantime, however, we still would advice against PUGs at the Hellfire Ramparts.
