The wait is “Ogre” – Shrek the Third now in retail
While the Shrek the Third movie isn’t expected to hit the theaters this May 18 (June 29 for Europe), it appears publisher Activision has decided to press on with releasing its game port. The publisher has just announced that the Shrek the Third game for the PS2, Wii, DS, Xbox 360 and PC is now out in retail, ready to plucked up by North America’s Ogre-loving populace.
Now, in case you haven’t been keeping in touch of this game (or the movie), this latest installment to the franchise has Shrek and Fiona attempting to rule over their kingdom of Far Far Away. But when King Harold – Fiona’s father- falls ill and is dying, it’s up to Shrek to bring Arthur (Fiona’s cousin) back to Far Far Away as the kingdom’s most promising candidate for king.
Aside from being able to use Shrek, players will also be introduced to two new faces based on the film: Arthur (aka Artie), and Sleeping Beauty. The game is expected to carry gamers through 20 levels, as they encounter one parodied fairy tale character after another. This multi-platform game is expected to sell to the 360 and Wii for US$ 49.99, the PS2 for US$ 39.99, the GBA and DS for US$ 29.99, and the PC for US$ 19.99. Shrek the Third’s PSP port is expected to launch early this June, at an expected retail price of US$ 39.99.
