The Ward gets renamed, Renegade Kid announces partnership with Gamecock
Up until our first announcement of Renegade Kid‘s The Wardgame, every time we heard anybody blurt out “survival horror” for the DS, the first thought that came to mind was Resident Evil: Deadly Silence. Now, in case the guys here would like to know how the game’s turning out so far, a new press release has just come out revealing two new details.
The first is an announcement that Renegade Kid has managed to get the Gamecock Media Group as its publisher – Wii owners may remember them for their upcoming Mushroom Men game. The other announcement pertains to a minor name change – the game is now titled Dementium: The Ward.
This decidedly adult-oriented survival-horror FPS will put players behind the controls of a man trapped in a mysterious, derelict hospital apparently frozen in time. Players will have to solve various puzzles, meet strange game characters, and face off against the labyrinth-like hospital complex’s surgical experiments as they try to solve the mysteries of the complex, while trying to stay alive.
“ItÂ’s great when you can sit down with a developer who shares the same vision of where games should be going in creating new and exciting titles to offer an alternative to the bland remakes and sequels flooding stores today,” said Harry Miller, Head of Development of Gamecock.
And while we don’t have any extra more details, we’ve managed to uncover a couple of in-game screenshots (inset above) to prepare players for the horrors that await them come launch day. Enjoy.
