The Ward screenshots and trailer
Most of us find hospitals quite creepy so when this new DS game was announced, we were somewhere between being scared and excited. The Ward is a new Nintendo DS game set to be launched fall this year. It fully utilizes the DS touch screen for exploration, puzzles and Wi-Fi multiplayer gameplay.
The Ward is the story of a man who awakens to find himself alone in a derelict hospital on a stormy night. He must get out of the hospital alive, and in doing so, unlock the mysteries of the hospital. Along the way are grotesque results of surgical experiments and some handy clues to help him find his way out.
Although the game still appears quite cutesy and even funny (to us, at least – think Theme Hospital meets Silent Hill), the graphics are quite good for a DS game. It was made by Renegade Kid, who is still actively seeking a publisher for this new title.
Says Renegade Kid owner and art director, Gregg Hargrove “We’re pushing the Nintendo DS to its’ limits, with chilling environments, demented enemy characters, and real-world weapons all realized in 3D” We still have to decide about the “chilling environments” and “demented enemies” but in the meantime, here are screenshots and the trailer.
