CD Projekt RED intends to give fans of The Witcher a polished version of the game by releasing The Witcher Enhanced Edition. Unlike what patches can do, the package will come with plenty of enhancements and improvements that address issues encountered before.

“There were a few ways the original game didnÂ’t quite live up to our high expectations, but now we’re trying to make up for it,” said Maciej Szcześnik, project manager at CD Projekt RED. True enough, the enhanced edition aims to raise the bar by making combat more interactive and precise, increasing the amount of text in the English version to for more immersion and atmosphere, and introducing 50 new NPC models so players won’t encounter the same person too often.

Around 100 new animated gestures in the Atari-published game The Witcher Enhanced Edition will help make Geralt and others move more naturally. Technical concerns also get enough attention, as loading times will be reduced by 80% and the game will be more stable on different PC configurations. Other nifty changes are going to be implemented, such as the redesign of the inventory panel.

Another good reason to choose this version instead of the original is the extra D’jinii Mod Editor. Two additional adventures promise that The Witcher Enhanced Edition will last longer than the original. On the sides, a bonus music CD with 29 tracks from the game, a music CD with 15 tracks of music inspired by the game, an 80-page instruction booklet, a 112-page official guide written by the gameÂ’s developers, a 50-page short story written by Andrzej Sapkowski, and a map of the game world are going to be included.

The Witcher Enhanced Edition is scheduled for release on May 16 in Europe, while the rest of the world should get it soon after. Those who grabbed the game before and aren’t too fond of getting another copy can access the new goods in the form of a downloadable update.
