The Witcher packshot - Image 1Atari has announced that a playable demo of developer CD Projekt‘s action RPG The Witcher is now out and available for download in their official site. This comes after the recent release of the title’s full version in traditional and online retailers.

The Witcher is an M-rated action game which puts you in the boots of white-haired professional monster hunter Geralt who seeks to rid his land of horrific creatures for bounty. Geralt learns this deadly trade from childhood and is brought up to become a warrior capable of vanquishing any threat imaginable.

In the downloadable demo, players can view the prologue which sets the tone of the story. The entire Act I is then made accessible to shed light on how Geralt becomes entangled in a plot that goes far deeper than mere mercenary activities. You’ll be slaying men and beasts in this demo to keep your blood pumping so don’t be afraid to get your feet wet by trying it out.
