The Wizard: DVD Edition – It’s So Bad!
Remember that old Nintendo commercial – I mean, movie – The Wizard? Fans of the movie have been anxiously awaiting for the movie to reach this format for years. Petitions have been made and finally the cries of Nintendo lovers have been heard!
Well, the late 80’s hit will be re-released on DVD August 29th, 2006. That’s right, all the Fred Savage soaked glory will be restored for the 21st century.
The film followed the misadventures of three confused kids running away from home. Along their journey, they find that Jimmy (the mentally challenged child) is a master at video games when he scores 50,000 points on Double Dragons. They shift gears and aim for California in hopes to compete in a video game tournament.
A couple minutes and several Nintendo references later, they win the tournament! Oops, gave it away…
To experience this great movie, save up your allowance and trade in some NES games. As Lucas Barton said in reference to the Powerglove, “It’s so bad!”
