The Zelda Wii and GameCube Scenario

Legend of ZeldaIt seems something interesting is brewing. Apparently, in the recent issue of Nintendo Power, an update about the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess seem to reveal that aside from controls, their aren’t any significant differences between the Nintendo GameCube and Wii versions of the game. If this is proven to be true, then this news tidbit just quashed all those rumors about the game – rumors such as several added features.

With this predicament at hand, we can’t help but think that the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is a double-edged sword in the sense that its release would be marred by positive and negative scenarios.

On the positive side of things, whatever happens Nintendo is coming out with two versions (1 for the Wii and another for the GCN) which could mean more profit coming Nintendo’s way. On the negative side of the street, if the GCN version turns out be better than that of the Wii version, then this might hurt Wii in its competition with the Xbox 360 and the PS3.

What do you think about this development? Do you think it’s a good thing that Nintendo is coming up with two versions of Zelda or do you think it’s such a bad idea? Which version do you think would be better? Let us know through your comments.
