Nintendo, on the other hand, was quick to respond by providing replacements.

Yep, it is all over now but Nintendo isn’t taking any chances. Judging from this snapshot, it seems that Nintendo just shipped in a new version of Wiimote straps. According to Marl0, one reader of gaming site Go Nintendo, he asked for a replacement and these were what he received.
