There’s no running for cover in Bodycount

First up, the gameplay. It’s a pretty common scenario in shooters for you to be waiting for enemies to pop-out from behind their hiding place, much like in a Whack-a-Mole sort of way, except the moles can hit you right back. Well, in Bodycount, you won’t have the security of indestructible walls to save your skin – the barriers can be destroyed and you can whack the mole before it even peeps out.
“Our shredding tech enables us to create a different kind of gameplay, where players and AI can’t hide behind indestructible cover,” says Stuart Black, creator of Black, who’s sharing his expertise with Codemasters for this project. “Here the environment is constantly changing as the game world is shot to hell; it’s going to be a huge amount of fun.”
The story will put you as somewhat of a hired gun out to kill “Targets” for an organization currently known only as the “Network”. The name of the game shouldn’t be much of a mystery now.
As for the platforms, the game has been confirmed for both the Xbox 360 and the PS3, aiming for a Q1 2011 release.
