Matias Myllyrinne of Remedy has confirmed to MTV that there will be a third DLC pack for Alan Wake, apart from the upcoming “The Signal” and “The Writer”. This news was made on top of some discussion as to what’s gonna be in store for you in “The Signal.”
WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD: (That means move on to another article if you don’t want to ruin your Alan Wake experience with unwarranted hints and tips about it.)
Myllyrinne explaiins that “The Signal” actually takes place after the whole Bright Falls episode of Alan Wake. This pointedly hints that the setting will be in another world. In fact, Alan will be pretty much put in a place which “won’t be grounded in the realm that we inhabit now.”
He furthers, “We have a nifty way of moving [the story] forward and materializing that into gameplay and storytelling without going into a mode of weirdness. For a thriller to work you need it to be grounded in reality. Otherwise all bets are off because the rules don’t really apply. So we wanted to have it kind of grounded in reality but also to take a more twisted take, because this is an extreme place and position he finds himself in.”
The third and yet-unnamed DLC pack for Alan Wake may be expected to arrive later this year. “The Signal” is a bit closer, though, as it gets released on July 27, 2010.
