This month’s Warhammer Online Beta Diary: Dwarf love

Warhammer Age of Reckoning EA Mythic] - Image 1Reading the Boss Profile of the Vampire Lord Neborhest left us wanting to get more dirt on the other characters in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning by EA Mythic. Its a good thing that the latest diary gives us some insight on how playing a Dwarf – lost in the Marshes of Madness, at that – would feel. Check out an excerpt from the diary in the full article!

Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning EA Mythic - Image 1We were given a glimpse into the character of the Vampire Lord, Neborhest, but what about his foes, the Dwarven race? In this month’s Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning Beta Journal by EA Mythic, a beta tester relates unexpected, newfound love towards the diminutive race.

The unnamed WAR player recounts how he favored other races, then quite suddenly found himself falling in love with an Ironbreaker Dwarf. Its not your run-of-the mill love story, but quite a well-written one. Check out this excerpt:

On this particular day, I had adventured deep into the Marshes of Madness, with no ally by my side, no ally that is but my reliable axe and shield. Without them, I’d never survive the horrors. The Marsh is wet and the air is heavy, I can almost smell the peat and the rot under my boots, as I trudge over moldering logs and damp ferns. And the Marsh is dark and mysterious as well, and there is a deeper secret no denizen will tell you – the very air is haunted with an ominous unspoken message.

Awesome, yes? Neborhest may feel annoyed and disturbed while the Dwarven Oathbearer regiment trudged across the Marshes of Madness, but we can see here that the little guys aren’t feeling too good about the whole thing either. Which leaves us wondering how they would feel when they encounter the undead (yet still vicious) Dork Redeye.

We find ourselves liking Warhammer Online’s periodical Beta Journals and profiles more and more. Making a gamer fall in love with a race he previously didn’t care about pretty much tells us how good the Warhammer: Age of Reckoning game is.
