More Tales of Symphonia: Innocence joy coming for you in delicious incomprehensible scan form, courtesy of the good people at Famitsu. We get you the skinny on what’s to expect with what could be one of the best-looking role-playing games for the Nintendo DS to date.

In this Famitsu scan update, we get an eyeful of not only the characters we’ll be spending a lot of time with in this latest Tales adventure, but also the locales we probably will be stumbling upon at one point or another in the game.

Quaint and detailed, it’s a throwback to simpler, more old-fashioned times. The world map itself looks very clean and expansive, so there’s definitely going to be quite some exploration in store for us. We also get another peek at combat, with both Luca and Iria giving baddies the what-for, sword-swinging and gun-slinging combined.

It’s to note that both characters and monsters look very detailed in the scans, and from what we’ve seen in the game’s trailer, combat looks to run at a very fast and very brutal clip. Which is all kinds of awesome.

The Nintendo DS is certainly getting its share of epic RPGs, and Namco Bandai‘s Tales of Symphonia: Innocence is definitely a great addition to any DS owner’s library.
