Tier Gear improvements players want to see
There have been a lot of complaints regarding the Tier Gear in Blizzard‘s World of Warcraft. Among the complaints include the fact that the set bonuses granted by the said items are geared towards a certain style of playing the character. Now, this isn’t a problem if you decide to follow that method, but a lot of players prefer doing it their own way.
Deine from the WoW forums has suggested a fix for the said problem. He proposes that new sockets be added into every tier gear piece. This would give the necessary flexibility that a lot of players have been clambering for. Of course, certain restrictions (level, only tier 4 and below gems) would have to be implemented to balance it, but that shouldn’t be too hard. While this sounds like a good solution, we would like to propose another.
How about just simply adding more equipment? Multiple versions of each piece of Tier Gear with bonuses based on the combination of equipment your character is currently wearing. Yes, this is more complicated and perhaps would take more time to implement. Still, we’d prefer to have the flexibility of jumping from combination to combination without taking the time to mod each of our gear. Another thing, having more content just makes me feel like I’m getting more value for my money. (But then again, that’s just me.)
There is a common consensus among a lot of the players on how to improve (I use improve because not all believe it’s broken) the current Tier Gear. However Blizzard plans on doing this is beyond us, but we expect that they will take time to listen to their paying constituents.
