Sony PlayStation Portable homebrew enthusiasts, rejoice – homebrew developer Art has just released the final version of Time Baby, the homebrew application that does all the things a digital watch does and more. Let’s check out what this final version has in store for us long-time followers and fans.

So, what’s new about Time Baby this time around? Why IR remote control feature, of course! This new feature, added to the plethora of awesome auxiliary augmentations to a simple time-keeping program, lets you use any old remote to cancel the alarm, announce the time, or advance the MP3 playlist.

There’s also the deal about the MP3 alarm feature resuming the MP3 playlist, as well as a general tightening-up of code. Definitely quite the swan song for Time Baby!

Here’s the complete changelog of version 13c:

V13c (28/03/08):

  • Improvement to list mp3 files in alphabetic order for the MP3 Player file browser.
  • Fix to prevent subfolder being entered into mp3 playlist therefore preventing subsequent crash.
  • Improvement to prevent any tracks from being entered into the mp3 playlist more than once.
  • Graphic indication of sleep mode is given in MP3 Player sub display mode.
  • All tracks selected for mp3 playlist now remain highlighted as the browser scrolls like iRshell.
  • MP3 playlist number is spoken through the headphones when the headphone remote is used to skip tracks.

Of course, while we’re sad to see Time Baby reach its final version (i.e. we won’t get to write about it anymore), developer Art says that this is the final release for the short term, and he will churn out versions in the future if there are any major bugs. Art also maintains that this is not the end of his homebrew creation career, and he’s pretty keen on working on new programs. Good news, right? In any case, updates as we get them, and enjoy!
