To all the naysayers: DaedalusX64 Beta 2 teaser video released *Update*

DaedalusX64“Here’s to those silly buggers that said it wouldn’t get anywhere.” Check it out: it’s a teaser trailer for DaedalusX64‘s Beta 2!

*Update* Salvy has explained to us a bit more about the footage that you see in the video. Default settings, check. Frame skips, definitely not check!

“Here’s to those silly buggers that said it wouldn’t get anywhere.” A fine statement there indeed. The entire Daedalus project (even as far back as when StrmnNrmn first worked on it) for the PSP has indeed gotten quite some flack, and to prove people wrong, we now have a teaser video from Wally and Salvy of the DaedalusX64 team.

This one is for their Beta 2 build, which, as the video says, “due for release shortly.” This video starts out with comments from the naysayers – hey! FreePlay, it’s you! – and eventually rolls in with the footage. Just some of the emulated clips you’ll see: Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, Smash Bros. Brawl, Starfox 64, Pokemon Staduim 2, and Mario Kart 64.

From Wally:

As you can see in the video, things are shaping up pretty well however Beta 2 is still fairly unstable. We’d like to fix things up before they get to your hands.

*Update* In case you haven’t check out Salvy’s comment below yet, here’s a bit of an update. He explains to us a bit more about the footage in this video and how it compares to Beta 1.

Just take note that all the videos were using the default settings so there wasn’t frame skip or anything that isn’t default except for Paper Mario that had Memory Access Optimisation enabled

Just compare the videos with beta 1 with the default settings you’ll see the big improvements that have been done for Beta 2

Meanwhile, you guys can check out Salvy’s full comment below for some tech specs. And if you want to get in on the discussion, there’s a thread on it over at the forums.
