Looks like electronica and orchestras are becoming the norm for game soundtracks, especially the new ones. Tom Salta, known for his contributions to the soundtracks in Need for Speed: Underground 2 and MTV VMA nominated score of Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, has now completed the in-game soundtrack for Ubisoft‘s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360).

The score, done in cooperation with the Hollywood Studios Symphony and the Page LA Studio Chorus, takes a more expressive stance to accompany the game’s theme and unfolding story. The music was recorded at the Eastwood Scoring Stage at Warner Bros. Studios, situated in Burbank, California. This same studio serves as a premier recording venue for major Hollywood movies.

His musical compositions for Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter were nominated for “Best Audio” at the 2006 BAFTA Video Game Awards, “Best Video Game Score” at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards and was a finalist for “Best Interactive Score” and “Audio of the Year” at the 5th Annual Game Audio Network Guild Awards.
