In Tomonobu Itagaki‘s recent interview, he was asked about the current developments of Tecmo‘s Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword for the Nintendo DS. As of writing, Itagaki said that they were already done with the major details of the game.
Right now, Team Ninja is focusing their efforts to fine tune the game. Itagaki was also asked about his thoughts about people playing an action game using a stylus. He said that even though there are gamers who will be skeptical of what the game presents, Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword will be changing their minds since it has a unique concept.
In addition to that, not only will gamers use the stylus to play the game but also the DS microphone as well. Itagaki said that the DS microphone adds a little variation in the action game to make things more interesting.
Also, Itagaki spoke his mind regarding Ninja Gaiden 2‘s magic and sword upgrades. He isn’t “fixed on the idea of powering up things or growing things in the game.” But even if this was the case, Itagaki still added the same feature for the Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword since it was already in the Ninja Gaiden game on the Xbox 360.
With much time spent on developing the game, finally Itagaki said that the release of the game will be the end of March. And if Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword becomes a successful title for the Nintendo DS, they will be branching out to other consoles as with games under the franchise that will be featuring the dragon sword system.
