Top Aussie games as of 3/14/07

Australia has always seen nice market action in terms of game and console sales. This week, we’ve seen some relatively interesting things happen in the Aussie game charts. A lot of surprises have sprung up, but thank heavens they’re all pleasant.

The Nintendo DS has been going strong in the past few months, and it seems to have everything going right as Bratz sold terrific amounts during the weekend. Nobody saw that coming, but we assure you, it’s a fact.

Popular shooter Ghost Recon is the best Xbox 360 game sales-wise this week, but one dominant streak is still not enough to put it on top of the overall standings. Meanwhile, Sonic and the Secret Rings remains untouchable as it fires on all cylinders to zoom up front in the Wii race.

Rockstar Games is still dominating the PSP scene with its naughty double-whammy of GTA Vice City Stories and GTA Liberty City Stories. It might amaze some of you, but the best selling game is from a console which is supposedly on its way out. Final Fantasy XII is still weaving the stuff of legends as it sits atop the Aussie game mountain aboard the PS2.
