Toys ‘R Us pre-order, post-camp-out reports

Camping out, sans the bonfires...And so after the whole pre-order madness at Toys ‘R Us outlets comes to an end, the fog of war finally lifts and we wonder and see if there are any casualties…

Alright, that may have been a little overly dramatic, but honestly, it can’t be helped, what with all the reports and entries which describe the whole camping experience as something just a bit short of a war. However, one can’t congratulate those brave souls who had the patience, the stamina and the sheer endurance to camp out in front of a store in near-freezing weather in order to get their hands on a nice, shiny console. Here’s to hoping that you will game happily ever after.

Ofcourse, everyone had a different agenda in mind when they all took a number and got in that line. Most were there to order consoles for their own use, while others, as expected, were getting those consoles for the sake of reselling it on eBay for a spot of profit.

One thing to note though, would be how the crowd seem to be split right down the middle, with almost equal numbers there for either the PS3 or the Wii, while there are the fortunate few who have the finances to get both units for themselves. And another thing? There seemed to be a lack of the 60GB PS3 models, while the 20GB models that WERE available were mostly ignored. There was, however, a healthy number of Wiis.

And so that episode of console history ends, but think about it: this is just a pre-order event… How do you think it would all look on the day of the launch itself..?

By the way, did any of you guys join the lines? We’d love to hear about how it went for you.
