Trailer: Monster Kingdom Jewel Summoner

The trailer for AtlusMonster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner for the PSP is out, and so far things look pretty good for this RPG by Kouji Okada (the father of the Shin Megami Tensei series).

The game is supposedly set to feature monster collection and battles. The game features over 100 monsters, and includes ad-hoc wireless connectivity to battle with other players or trade jewels.

As for the story, you play as Vyse, a Jewel Summoner – someone who summon monsters that have been changed into jewel form. While Vyse did not receive any formal training, he did inherit his charm and his talents from his mother. The plot gets pretty standard from there as Vyse and his companions set out on a quest to avenge the death of his mother.

Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner is set for release on February 13, 2007. Interesting that a very Japanese styled game will see an earlier release in North American shores (IGN claims that it will see a February 23 Japan release). Fans of games of this nature will no doubt have something to look forward to for their PSPs.
