Travesty of Justice! Round and Round Chameleon DS has no Chameleons!
Chameleons are always given a bad rap for never showing their true colors, but we at QJ love them dearly. It’s one thing to know that no one’s ever thought of a collective noun for chameleons, in the same way that we say “a pride of lions” or “a murder of crows.” When a company says they’re giving the gaming public chameleons, however, we expect them to give us whatever collective noun they can use to refer to a whole lot of chameleons.
Actually, we propose that they call it “a starfish of chameleons.” It makes just as much sense as crows and murder, which is to say none at all.
It’s too bad that Starfish’s upcoming puzzle game for Nintendo’s double-screened wonder, KuruKuru Chameleon DS or Round and Round Chameleon DS doesn’t seem to have any chameleons, but it may be too soon to say. The last time we heard anything about chameleons was in 2005, when Starfish released KuruKuru Chameleon for the PSP in Japan. It never saw the light of American and European chameleon-love, but there may just be a chance for that love to come in a rainbow of chameleon colors!
In any case, KuruKuru is a puzzle game that is reminiscent of creating a virus… a virus of chameleon-puzzle love. Your job is to keep on matching colors to make groups of tiles on your side of the gameboard. When you go over 50% of the available territory and invade your opponent’s side of the board, you win.
Round and Round Chameleon DS is slated for release in Japan on September 28. In the meantime, spread some chameleon love with these pics of screens, artwork and boxart for the game. Oh, and don’t forget to fight for the right for chameleons to have a collective noun, starfish be damned!
