Even though bad ports are more likely to appear when it comes to multiplatform titles, Treyarch's Noah Heller says that those planning to get the Wii version of Call of Duty: World at War (PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, DS) have nothing to fear. Check out the full article for Heller's statements as well as confirmation of the inclusion of one of the Wiimote's more famous attachments.
It looks like Treyarch is busy doing everything to avoid getting slammed for churning out mediocre Wii ports. Talking to CVG, the Call of Duty 5: World at War developer stated that the game's Wii version is being worked on by a dedicated in-house team."It's a special team at Treyarch - not some out-sourced team. Not some group living in another country. These guys live, eat and breathe Wii," said senior producer Noah Heller, who also revealed that Wii Zapper support will be included in Call of Duty 5.
Heller went on to say that the team working on the game's Wii version are working on a lot of "special technology" to ensure intuitive controls. Considering that the Zapper only gives players three readily-available buttons, controls will be key to the Wii version's success.
Heller also had some more good news for Wii owners eagerly awaiting a look at Call of Duty 5. Treyarch will apparently be revealing the game's Wii version soon, quite possibly sometime during E3. Activision has bowed out of E3, but most big publishers will likely be having events around this time. Check back here for more info.
