TrionCube blasts onto DS
Namco Bandai Games, the same people who brought us Tekken, PacMan, and Tamagotchi (to name a few) has just announced their new puzzle game for the DS, TrionCube.
Here’s the game’s basic storyline: You’ll take on the role of captain of the space ship Penko and travel across eight planets to rescue the kidnapped princess and save her from the grasp of Hell Metal.
Now, in order to do this, you have to create a Trioncube, which, as the name states, is a series of 3×3 blocks which will start a chain reaction and fuel your space ship across space. The goal then is to create as big a chain as possible before time runs out so that the Penko will be able to travel in space for long distances and bring you to the princess.
As you progress through the game, you’ll have to devise different strategies to deal with difficult shapes to create Trioncubes and get to the princess in time. You’ll also have four gameplay modes to choose from: Arcade, Story, Endless and Versus mode.
Players will be able to collect coins and purchase various unique Effects and Arts – like sushi rolls, dogs and tambourines jumping out of the Trioncube to fuel your space ship as you travel through space.
Trioncube is scheduled for release throughout North America in February 2007.
