Tron: Evolution announced and dated

Following the announcement made during the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards, Disney Interactive Studios today let slip an official announcement for Tron: Evolution, the companion game for the new Tron movie.

Following the announcement made during the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards, Disney Interactive Studios today let slip an official announcement for Tron: Evolution, the companion game for the new Tron movie.

The game’s story bridges the gap between the original film and Tron: Legacy. The latter will include references to the game, so the hardcore fans out there will probably not want to miss either one. Details are still scarce, but Disney does promise  “high-mobility disc-based combat and advanced light cycles.”

The Propaganda Games-developed action/adventure title is scheduled for a Holiday 2010 release, before the Tron: Legacy’s December 17 release date. Tron: Evolution will be available for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. We didn’t get to post it during the weekend, so here’s the VGA 2009 trailer:
