Homebrew developer xt5 has released Trucha Signer v0.21 for the Nintendo Wii.
The coder said that this exploit has been ready for some time now and was even showcased at the hackers convention, 24th Chaos Communication Congress.
However, xt5 said that during its initial announcement, the purpose of Trucha Signer was only to prove that it is feasible to run homebrew on the Nintendo Wii.
But since other exploits have already been developed, xt5 sees no harm in finally releasing this publicly. So, what does Trucha Signer v0.21 provide users exactly? The coder provided the following explanation:
This program let you extracts files, replaces files, and inserts a “trucha signature” in a Wii disc partition, the source data could be an ISO image or just be read straight from a DVD drive (backup copies).
According to xt5 this specific version is different from the original one demonstrated by hackers bushing, segher and, tmbinc in such a way that this is able to replace files other than the ones starting in first H3 block.
