TyRaNiD’s “Naked PSP” Seminar and Reference for Homebrew Development
TyRaNiD‘s done it again with a detailed PDF seminar for developers of PSP homebrew. The name of this PDF slideshow says it all: “The Naked PSP,” and it’s appropriately named: TyRaNiD’s slideshow really does “unclothe” the PSP.
Who should download this?
Homebrew developers and those who are really interested in the technical details of the “inner workings” of the PSP (memory maps, compilers, the modular kernel, resource tracking, etc.). If you’re just interested in downloading games or new homebrew, then don’t even bother reading the rest of this article.
What’s in this seminar?
The tutorial has four sections: History of PSP Homebrew, PSP Hardware, PSP Software, and Debugging.
It’s not a step-by-step tutorial. It’s a collection of reference material that might help you make your own homebrew. But it does give a somewhat-detailed technical information but not all the gritty stuff. If you’re not a programmer, this will not teach you how to program. But if you are a programmer, then these slides will be useful reference pages to check while you’re programming. Here’s the slideshow’s table of contents:
- History of PSP Homebrew
- Revisions of the PSP
- PSP Hardware
- The System Controller
- PSP Software
- The Toolchain
- Modular Kernel
- Threading Model
- Programming Interfaces
- PSP Security
- Debugging
- Debugging Tools
Basically, you’ll see slides like these:
This presentation can be downloaded at Please note that this is not a PowerPoint slideshow; it is a PDF slideshow and you will need to download Adobe Acrobat or Adobe Reader.
