Ubisoft and IFC launch Assassin’s Creed short film contest
All of you budding filmmakers out there in gamer land, here’s a heads up. Ubisoft and the Independent Film Channel (IFC) today announced that they will be having a short film contest inspired by video game title Assassin’s Creed (PC, PS3, Xbox 360).
Starting today, interested individuals can submit a short film based on the themes found in Assassin’s Creed for judging through IFC‘s Media Lab. The short film entry should last no more than six minutes. These submissions will be accepted until August 20. Here’s a list of themes you can choose from:
- Planning, assassination, escape
- Social stealth – using crowd as a means of disguise or escape
- Assassination in public and in close proximity to the victim
- Assassination of historical figures
- Conspiracy surrounding historical assassination
The grand prize winner will get US$ 10,000, an Xbox 360 and a copy of the Xbox 360 version of the game. The winning short film will also be included inside the Limited Edition version of Assassin’s Creed and will be aired on the IFC television network in November to coincide with the game’s launch.
Two runners-up will also get the same deal as the grand prize winner, except the cash prize will be US$ 2,500 each. Winners, furthermore, will be announced on or before November 30. For more details, feel free to click on the “Read” link below as it should take you to the contest’s official site.
