Ubisoft grows 78 percent in the US alone

GameDaily Biz reports that the future of French Publisher Ubisoft looks very bright as the company saw a sales growth of 78 percent in the US, 55 percent in the United Kingdom, 30 percent in France, and 41 percent in Germany.

Reports say that this growth was driven largely by the strong performance of Nintendo’s Wii. Ubisoft points out that they’re the number one independent publisher on the Wii in the US and Europe, and that they’re the number two independent publisher on Xbox in Europe. They’re number three for the Xbox in the US.

Even the analysts are impressed with Ubisoft’s performance. In a recent research note, Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter said:

Although competition in the video game software business remains fierce from companies such as industry leader Electronic Arts, and smaller competitors Take Two Interactive, Midway Games, THQ, and Activision, we believe that Ubisoft’s key brands, its slate of promising releases, and its aggressive launch presence on the new consoles will allow the company to gain market share over the next several years… We believe that Ubisoft is a compelling investment.

If you’re still doubting Ubisoft, just try to recall what Ubisoft’s next hot title is. Oh yeah, it’s Assassin’s Creed.
