Ubisoft: Wii apologize for the early rush

Raving Rabbid - Image 1A recent interview by Germany‘s Spiegel magazine with Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot and European head Alain Corre reveals something indicated in titles like Red Steel and Raving Rabbids for the Wii console: the publisher sacrificed overall game quality in favor of making the most out of the Wii’s strong early sales.

“We made mistakes,” said Corre and Guillemot regarding their earlier releases and further promised that Ubisoft’s future batch of titles for the Wii would be better.

This isn’t to say the company isn’t doing too badly – Ubisoft currently appears to be on good terms with the big “N”.

Financially speaking, Ubisoft is expected to end the fiscal year with roughly 75 million to 95 million Euros (US$ 94.16 million to US$ 127.79 million) in net cash, with Â€ 20 million (US$  26.9 million) expected to be allocated for new acquisitions.

As for his sentiments regarding the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Corre stated that Sony should set a new price point soon if it still wants to sell a satisfactory amount of units this year. He added, “Microsoft, too, by the way.”
