UK Police hunting down Xbox 360 delivery truck hijackers
Alright, something serious now… After the recent string of robberies, mugging and general violence which surrounded the recent PS3 launch, it seems that the PS3 isn’t the only hot item around. A gang has deemed a truckload of Xbox 360s to be a worthy catch.
At the moment, Staffordshire police are hunting down a group who, under the premise of having something stuck in between its wheels, flagged down an Xbox delivery truck near Lichfield just a short while after it left the distribution center. The 46-year-old driver of the truck was then attacked and the thieves ran off, truck, consoles and all. Just for the curious and for the nitpicky, the stolen consoles were part of a shipment of a new WWE: Smackdown vs Raw 2007 Xbox 360 bundle which was supposed to be launched tomorrow, and the value of the loot amounts to around £500,000.
The empty truck was later found abandoned on the A38 near Sutton Coldfield.
Now with all this stealing going on which involves PS3s and Xbox 360s, ever wondered why no one has stolen a Wii yet? Is it because it doesn’t sell as much? Is it because its processor isn’t enough to make some sort of devastating super-weapon even if you had a thousand of them? Or is it because the thieves would most probably feel a twinge of guilt and put the Wiis back? Any ideas, anyone?
