UMD Approved as an ISO Standard – Spec Sheet Released

ECMA has now approved UMD as an ISO optical disc standard, giving it the title ECMA-365.

There are 2 standard types however Type A and Type B, Type A being 0.9GB and Type B being 1.8GB.

This is good news, meaning that the format is now open and companies can now download datasheets and specifications ready for pressing on the format.
