Un-happy birthday to Mii – no birthday greeting feature

Mii - Image 1All Nintendo DS owners know perfectly well that their handhelds are capable of greeting them on their birthdays. A birth date entry is included in the system information, and when the user goes to Pictochat on that day, the handheld will present a special greeting.

The same birth day thingamajig is applicable as well to the Nintendo Wii’s Miis. Each avatar, accordingly, can be personalized with a birth date. Now, a certain Scott Jon Siegel celebrated his birthday a couple of days ago. Knowing all about the DS deal, he went into the Mii channel expecting his avatar to greet him.

Quite, sadly, no confetti was thrown. No party hat-wearing Mii could be found.

Siegel is not bashing Nintendo or anything. He is just saying that it could have been another nice and uber-cute feature for the new console. And we can’t help but agree…

Belated Happy Birthday Scott!
