PC gamers who can never get enough of RTS titles will be glad to know that Sega and Petroglyph‘s Universe at War: Earth Assault has gone gold and is now in its manufacturing stages. Shipping plans are now in place and ready for launch.

The projected release of Universe at War: Earth Assault for brick-and-mortar shops is on December 5, and a digital distribution scheme from Steam is also in the works.

Universe at War: Earth Assault is the first iteration in a planned series by Sega which tells the tale of our planet invaded and stripped of resources by an alien menace. All this happens because of mankind’s inability to act as one for the common good.

Players will be able to get a taste of this sci-fi RTS via a FileShack download. Just be warned that the demo takes up 1.2GB of space, so it might take a while to acquire. Enjoy!
