Unreal Tournament 3 to support keyboard and mouse
There’s some exciting news for all of you awaiting the release of Unreal Tournament 3 on the Sony PlayStation 3. Just when it looked that keyboards and mice won’t be in the mix when the action begins, new hope has risen from the best source of them all.
PS3 Fanboy reports that Epic Vice President Mark Rein has confirmed the support of the input devices through a post on the PS3Forums. This comes after an interview with Joystiq that saw him lean over to the no-keyboard side because he thought that there wasn’t much demand for it. Fans reacted and sent him feedback, prompting him to reverse the decision.
Now that it’s settled, how do the developers address the issue of balancing the play between SIXAXIS and keyboard players? Does this indicate that we’re closing in on PS3 to PC cross-platforming? We’re not sure but here’s hoping for the best. More details to come in future posts.
