Upcoming M4-based Mac little rumored to remove USB-A with more Laptop ships
The current Mac Mini form factor could change dramatically in the M4 incarnation.
The M4 Mac Mini redesign is expected to follow the iMac and ditch USB ports in favor of a variety of USB-C ports. Bloomberg has published a new report that confirms earlier claims about a major redesign for the Mac Mini, which will take cues from larger Mac Studio models but in a smaller form factor. The form factor based on the M4 and M4 Pro will be taller, but not much bigger than Apple TV’s current hardware. The unit will have three USB-C port on the back and two USB-C on the front, similar to the Mac Studio. The redesign will include HDMI and Ethernet ports as well as a headphone port. The M4 version could arrive as early as October, before the M4 Pro. Rumors suggest that Apple may also update its MacBook Pro, iMac, and Mac Studio lineups before the end 2024. The MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro could be refreshed in 2025.
