**UPDATE** Pirates of the Burning Sea: launch date, beta, preorder info, screenshots
We’ve just received confirmation that Flying Lab Software‘s Pirates of the Burning Sea will be released on January 22 next year. If you want to start playing earlier, the developers behind the said MMORPG also mentioned that those who pre-order the video game before it becomes available in retail stores on October 23 will get a chance to start playing by January 7.
Those who will order the game in advance will not only be getting a head start, they’ll be scoring some loot as well. Included with the package is a soundtrack CD, some exclusive in-game weapons, as well as a parrot for your character’s shoulder. Here are more details straight from Flying Lab Software:
Pre-orders are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 23rd. Players that pre-order will receive an invitation to the “Pre-Boarding Party” giving them access to the live game 15 days prior to launch. During this time, players can level up to 20 and keep their characters after launch, with a purchase of the game and paid monthly subscription.
If you weren’t lucky enough to get into the beta but want to see what the game is like, the developers have given word that a “very large-scale beta” will be held some time before the launch date. They said that more players will get a chance to try the game without having to sign any NDAs (a common practice for beta testers).
It has been six years since the developers started working on the game. Hopefully, this game will live up to all the hype it has built up over that time.
