*UPDATE* What you need to run Stranglehold on PC

Stranglehold isn’t all about Massive D and pure John Woo action, but also about high specs. If you’re planning to play the game on the PC, you might want to do some tweaks on your machine. Looking at the minimum requirements Midway revealed, you’d need a monster to experience Stranglehold in its full glory.

Here’s what you need to at least run the game (which, as PC gamers know, means playing in the lowest settings to even move anything):

  • OS: Windows XP SP2 / Vista
  • CPU: Dual Core Processor
  • RAM: 2 GB RAM
  • Video: Nvidia 7800 or higher / ATI x1300 or higher
  • Disk space: 15 GB

That’s right, you’ll be needing two gigs of RAM and a good chunk of 15 GB space if you don’t want Stranglehold on a console. Those still running on somewhat dated video cards also need to dish out some dough for more power.

Fortunately, you don’t need a beast of a machine to kick ass as Inspector Tequila. As most of us know, Chow Yun-Fat‘s latest adventure will also be available on Xbox 360 and PS3.

*Update*: It appears that there’s been some confusion among the folks at Midway. German website PC Games contacted the guys in charge regarding the steep specs a moderator posted on Midway’s Official Forum as Stranglehold‘s minimum requirements, and apparently, the actual system requirements aren’t as high.

As of now, we are yet to confirm how powerful of a machine does a PC Gamer need to get Chow Yun-Fat do some Tequila Time. The forum post did not state that said requirements were final, so we can bet that some optimizations are still in the works.
