Updates on FFXII: Revenant Wings

Revenant Wings

Why isn’t Revenant Wings a pretty little thing? It’s got the clouds, the lovely wings, and a cute pair of heroes to play with afterall. It seems that Square is taking advantage of their last PS2 venture, and thatÂ’s why theyÂ’re trying to cash in on a DS spin-off of the game title. However, it may just be an entirely different kind of gameplay for this FFXII extension.

The game takes the heroes of Final Fantasy XII, Vaan and Penelo, who are out on a quest to Poolbama (still an unofficial name), an uncharted floating island in the sky. In this said island lies the secret treasure of Grevados. The game takes place years after the timeline of FFXII and Vaan already has his own ship and Penelo pilots it for him. For now, we donÂ’t really know much about the whereabouts of the game and how the gameplay will actually go, but do expect to see a lot of aerial combat, though, as it seems to be the focus of the game.

Until we hear more word from Square Enix about this game, here’s some screenshots for now which were taken from a trailer of the game at the recent Tokyo Game Show.
