Urinal Gaming… It’s an Ironic Guy Thing

Designer Marcel Neundorfer has come up with one of the most bizarre gaming systems ever, urinal gaming. This isn’t a joke, this is an actual design. A pressure sensitive display screen is recessed into a urinal and the user triggers an interactive game via, shall we say ‘streaming’ onto it. Sound and images are produced, which may be enough to send even the most outgoing guy blushing from the restroom.

The idea behind the project is to make toilet going ‘fun and games’, but it’s also suggested it will improve restroom hygiene given the specific target area, thus saving on cleaning costs. Essentially though this is an art piece and so there’s a deeper level of meaning to this, which states, the users are treated to a new way of visualising the abstract, thus boosting entertainment value. At present the piece is part of a museum display conceived out of irony.
