Ur-Quan Masters 0.5.0 – PSP Port

Sharkus has released a new port for the PSP. The port is of a game called Ur-Quan Masters and is what the author called “a very rough port”. The game has long loading times, but Sharkus is already aware of this and plans to shorten load times in the future. This game takes place in space where you navigate a ship through space in a form of RPG style. When I first got into the actual gameplay, it took me a minute to figure out what I was doing, so when I did, I ran into an enemy. The combat system was real time and I could not turn the ship around fast enough to attack the enemy! I hope you guys have better luck than I did at the first few minutes of the game (game over!).

The port is a little less rough than I expected, so Sharkus shouldn’t be too rough on himself! In the end, this is a game port that we should all pick up because it will entertain you on those long bus rides to school or to work (if the loading times permit).

Sharkus plans to do the following for future releases:

– Create ICON/Background for EBOOT
– Clean up source code changes and release
– Optimize load times
– Use Ram for temp directory (not sure how much this is used)
– Fix aspect ratio and add support for GU scaling
– Adhoc wireless melee (I would need to have a lot of motivation and another psp for this one)
