US Gears of War confirmed to be region-free
There’s nothing like the smell of burning debris in the morning, and there’s also nothing quite like the reaction that gamers across the pond in the UK are going to have when they find out that the US version of Epic Games and Microsoft‘s Gears of War is indeed region-free. Rumors about this have been floating around for a while now, and we finally have some definite answers for you guys.
According to Eurogamer’s Tom Branwell, their copy of Gears of War loaded up fine on the PAL Xbox 360 (insert screams of joy here). Branwell also reported that the game already has a pre-bundled patch that apparently fixes a few minor bugs. No further info on the bugs was available, but hey, if it’s been fixed then it’s all good.
Gears of War. Region-free. Savor those words, folks. To those who just can’t wait until the 17th to get a taste of this mighty title of epic proportions, we suggest you call your best friend in the US and beg for a copy now.
