Use the DS as PKE meter in Ghostbusters Wii via cross platform compatibility
During the recent Sierra Spring Break 08 in Mallorca last week, Ghostbusters (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, and PC) developer Terminal Reality clued everyone in on some of the neat compatibility features across platforms that the game will sport. Just how neat are we talking about? How about trying to use your DS as a substitute for the Wii version’s in-game PKE meter? More details about this in our full article after the jump.
It’s time to dust off the old Proton Packs because the Ghostbusters are back in town. During the recent Sierra Spring Break 08 in Mallorca last week, Ghostbusters developer Terminal Reality clued everyone in on some of the neat compatibility features across platforms that the game will support.
Studio director John O’Keefe mentioned that the upcoming title based on the 1980’s blockbuster movie hit will be outsourced to Red Fly Studios for its PlayStation 2, Wii, and DS versions.
It was also revealed that both Nintendo platforms will have an interesting tie-in where players can actually use their DS as a substitute for the in-game PKE meter (the Ghostbusters’ handy dandy ghost-locating device).
Aside from these small tidbits, the developers were pretty much tight lipped about everything else. They did however reveal that despite the game not having a campaign co-op mode, there will be four-way split screen action on the Wii and PS2 versions of the upcoming title.
Ghostbusters (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, and PC) will be released worldwide this October, so until then we’ll make sure to keep an eye out for more details regarding it.
